Miami, FL -Un-Human Interest story, encountering another kind of spirited being during an investigation in downtown Miami, FL.

June26th 2008

During an exacting investigation at Lummus park in downtown Miami, FL we came upon the saddest looking little un-human ever.

It was a terrified little ball of furry fear. A tiny orange kitten that did little but run. It started in the back of the property when we were fiddling with the power cords. There we found a very frightened little kitten that could not have been more than 6 weeks old.

The little guy was running through the whole park, running away from anything that frightened it and just about everything frightened it. When it was not running it would just meow for it’s momma as loud as he could.

Even with the windows closed and doors securely locked inside the solid built historic slave house, the EVP evidence revealed the unsettling sounds of frightened little kitten.

Through most of the investigation I lost sight of the little guy, ever now and then I would see him running from something in the distance as I was passing between the two buildings we investigated at this site.

At the end of the investigation the kitty decided the safest place to hide would be under the wheels of the huge vehicles parked on the lot. As we were leaving it was a struggle to get the little fellow out of harms way before we could move.

My heart went out to the poor creature. During the hours we were there everyone kept hoping the mother would come to the babies’ aid but no such luck fell upon the frightened baby.

At the end of the night the kitten was so tired it literally could not run anymore. But it still cried for help. I found myself unable to abandon the helpless little guy there and next thing I knew, I was sitting in the SUV’s back seat on my way home with a tiny little orange baby cradled in my lap.

When I got the baby home and saw him in the light I noticed how bad he had really been. His tiny little body was covered with fleas head to toe, I instantly gave him a bath and cradled him in a rowel until he dried of. The kitty was so tired he did not even care about getting all wet.

While the kitty was drying off in my front porch reality started to set in and worries surfaced abundantly in my mind. My cat, though I love her, is very intent on being an only cat and would not accept roommates in her home. When introduced to the new baby the only thing she did is hiss and attack the helpless youngster while holding a serious grudge at me.

I decided to let the matter be till morning, though it was technically morning already I needed as much rest at the kitty.

Minou did not change her mind by morning. But the little fellow had a fear of being left alone. We put him in the cat carrier and let him be in the living room. The carrier was for his safety so our beloved Minou would not hurt him. She did stand guard and hissed profusely every time the little fellow would adjust or twitch in his slumber.

Much to my relief, as soon as placed a couple ads online for adoption of our newfound friend a slew of replies followed.

A home was chosen and baby kitty, now named Yoda found a loving family with a boy named Angel and his mom.

Aah, I love happy endings!
